A woman in Cuero, Texas, southeast of San Antonio, has the head of an alleged “chupacabra” that turned up near her ranch. A hunter and taxidermist, Phyllis Canion isn’t likely to mistake squirrel, coyote or armadillo for the mythical blood-sucking creature. She found three forty-pound bodies of fanged, dog-like creatures and took it upon herself to freeze a head for posterity (and possible DNA analysis). Further confirmation came from the bodies of chickens on the ranch which had been completely drained of blood.
A nearby vet suggested the head might belong to a mutated species of dog with a preference for lapping up blood. We can neither confirm nor deny, but even if chupacabra is another word for blood-sucking dog, we’re excited about being one step closer to putting an ugly face with a mysterious name.
What do you think? Is this beast the Mexican goat-sucker? Leave a comment.

Hmm… I don’t know if he’s a relative of or the missing link to Chupa, but I like that his tongue is sticking out. How lucky that he was found by a taxidermist.

LOOKS LIKE A PITBULL MIX ANIMALS ALWAYS LOOK DEFORMED WHEN THEY DIE AND ARE DECAYING AND THEN YOU PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER . BUT IT IS AN INTERSTING PICTURE. IT REMINDS ME OF THE DOG CREATURE THEY FOUND IN MAINE A FEW MONTHS BACK. IT TURNED OUT TO BE SOME CHOW-CHOW MIX . MAKES GOOD NEWS.

I was listening to AM radio earlier this morning and Phyllis was on air saying that the scientists she gave the head to said that the DNA “closely resembled that of a coyote” but they didn’t say it WAS a coyote, nor did they give reasons why the ears weren’t positioned like a coyote, there were no teeth between the incisors, or why the beast was hairless! very intriguing.

they also didn’t explain why the thing had super short front legs

Hi CAM - Thanks for your comment. It’s very interesting that there was an AP report saying that the DNA is “virtually identical” to a coyote which echoes what you heard on the radio. Strange that they didn’t say MATCHED a coyote, as you point out.
Also interesting that the hairlessness was still said to remain a mystery. Brings to mind the recent Bigfoot sighting in PA that was chalked up to a bear with “extreme mange”. Um, OK.
