MoaiThe Gazette (Canada) has a nice article on Easter Island. They don’t break much new ground here, but they do recap the enigmatic history of the place for the uninitiated. As discussed in our previous article, The 7 Paranormal Wonders of the World, the huge statues known as “moai” were quarried and carved, then moved to locations throughout the island, only to be later intentionally toppled and finally returned to their upright position through recent restoration efforts. It’s not clear how the statues were moved or why they were created, but they continue to capture the imagination.

ignorance is bliss. you have your little HTML program and you can say whatever. However, before spouting your moronic understanding of history, do some fckn research. There is great understanding of history of Moai and the people who lived on Easter Island. How you graduated from high school (my assumption) is a greater mystery than the Moai on Easter Island.

Ouch. Someone forgot their Prozac this morning.

Not sure how to respond to this one, Jim. From the research we’ve conducted, there isn’t one case of conclusive evidence as to how the stones were moved or exactly why they were toppled. There are theories, mind you, but only theories.

If your high school provided evidence to the contrary, please enlighten us. We’re willing to forgo both ignorance and bliss.
