Ancient Megalith Pre-Dates Stonehenge
Do you know about the mysterious megalithic structure that first made news after Israel captured the location from Syria in 1967? The Wheel of the Nephilim is known as Gilgal Refaim (Rujm el Hiri in Arabic) and is located in the Golan Heights and went unknown to the world at large for generations. This amazing structure pre-dates England’s Stonehenge and may be as many as 5,000 years old.

Aerial photos reveal the nested circular structure of the megalithic monument consisting of five concentric rings. At the center of the structure lies what is believed to be a burial mound some 15 feet high from which the rest of the structure can be seen.
Since its discovery, archaeologists have scoured the area, recovering shards of pottery and flint tools which were used to date the structure. However, scientists have yet to discover why the structure was built or precisely what role in played in ancient life.
The site differs from Stonehenge in its construction. Rather than huge pillars and lintels, the Wheel of the Nephilim is built from hundreds of smaller basalt rocks that appear to be a scattered, weed-covered wall to the casual observer. Seen from the air, however, the complexity of the structure is revealed. Overall, the site is comprised of over 40,000 tons of carefully placed rocks.
Built by Supernatural Giants?
The Nephilim, according to Judeo-Christian lore, were a supernatural race of giants who were the offspring of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men” before the flood. Others have interpreted the Nephilim to be both giants and fallen angels. Ancient alien theorists have suggested that they are human-alien hybrid offspring.
Throughout the Middle East, the Nephilim are known as the ancient ones, regardless of their origin. The Wheel of the Nephilim is their mysterious legacy.
